Hercules
Inhalt: Eine weitere Serie, die auf einen (mäßig
erfolgreichen) Disney-Spielfilm basiert. Zeitlich spielt die TV-Serie einige Jahre vor
dem Spielfilm.
Der junge Hercules wird auf der Prometheus Akademie ausgebildet.
Hier trifft er auf eine Reihe anderer Helden der griechischen
Mythologie. Neben Mitschülern wie Ikarus, Cassandra oder Adonis
sind auch sein Trainer Phil, sein treues, fliegendes Pferd
Pegasus, aber auch der fiese Gott der Unterwelt Hades samt den
Helfern Pech und Schwefel dabei. Durch die Geschichten führen
die bereits aus dem Film bekannten sangesfreudigen Musen.
Bewertung: Bei der Serie wurden nicht nur die Charaktere, sondern
auch der Zeichenstil des Spielfilms übernommen. Da mich der Film
von der Anmutung her sowieso stark an eine Serie erinnerte, ging
also nichts verloren. Die Geschichten geben jetzt sogar mehr Raum,
einzelne Helden der vielfältigen, griechischen Mythologie
genauer vorzustellen. Viele Gags ergeben sich aber weiterhin aus
anachronistische Verweise auf unsere Gegenwart.
Spaßige und manchmal auch spannende Abenteuer eines etwas zu
schlacksig geratenen, schüchternen Teenager-Hercules zeigen, dass
die Serie im TV besser aufgehoben ist als im Kino.
In den USA gab es für den Schauspieler James Woods für seine
Sprechrolle den "Daytime Emmy 2000". Ein Crossover gibt es bei der
Folge "Hercules und die Arabische Nacht", in der man ein Wiedersehen mit
Aladdin feiern kann.
